EWI’s Vice President and Director for Public Policy Andrew Nagorski moderated a panel discussion organized by the Permanent Mission of the Republic of Poland to the United Nations, on December 12th.

The seminar marked the 65th anniversary of the Convention for the Prevention and Punishment of the Crime of Genocide—adopted by the UN General Assembly in 1948. The event also payed tribute to Raphael Lemkin, highlighting his tireless efforts to adopt the Convention. 

Panelists included: Fatou B. Bensouda, Prosecutor of the International Criminal Court; Irwin Cotler, Professor of international law, former Minister of Justice of Canada; and David Harris, Executive Director of American Jewish Committee.
