Writing for Huffington Post Canada, EWI Distinguished Fellow John Izzo discusses how Net Party, a new political party organized by Argentinean technologists, intends to use the Internet to involve citizens in a more direct form of democracy.

Izzo credits EWI's track record of fostering dialogue on intractable issues as an example of the benefits of encouraging direct conversation. “Democracy and society will be better when people have to talk to each other and reach conclusions, which is what 30 years of brokering conversations have taught us at EastWest,” he writes. “When people talk and listen, solutions emerge larger than anyone thought possible."
