- Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference Vice Chairman and International Department of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China Minister Wang Jiarui, State Council Information Office Director Cai Mingzhao, Chinese Ambassador to the U.S. Cui Tiankai, Consul General in New York Sun Guoxiang and China Institute of International Studies (CIIS) President Qu Xing sent their condolences, saying that Mroz was an old friend of China’s and an exceptional, visionary and pioneering leader.
- For many years, Mroz actively championed and helped to launch friendly U.S.-China exchanges. In particular, he made unique contributions to the establishment of high-level U.S.-China dialogues, which served to strengthen strategic communication and opened important new paths for building a new type of major-power relationship between the two countries.
- He visited China on many occasions to promote the development of U.S.-China relations and improve mutual understanding between the people of both countries and was a partner that we could trust.
